Job Openings Service Technician

About the job Service Technician

Do you enjoy seeing the world while you're busy saving the world? Then join the team of The Waste Transformers as Service Technician.

About the company

We turn food waste into positive value on-site with our innovative food waste solution. We developed an on-site containerized anaerobic digester, called a Waste Transformer. It is placed next to companies or in communities that produce food waste. Biodegradable waste, such as kitchen waste and commercial waste, is used to create biogas and then converted into electricity and heat. The food waste itself turns into liquid natural fertilizer ready to replace (polluting) artificial fertilizers.

With clients from Africa to Latin America and from Europe to the Middle East, and a team from 8 different countries, our company is very international and embraces diversity.

What you'll be doing

As Service Technician, you'll perform the installation on-site of our Waste Transformers, as well as the half-yearly and yearly servicing. Additionally, you'll help train the daily operators of these installations and monitor if the installations are running at maximum efficiency.

Our installations are being built in the Netherlands by our production partner in Velsen-Noord, and then assembled and taken into production on-site, usually with a local partner taking care of feeding the machine a daily diet of food waste. As food waste gets produced everywhere, our installations also go everywhere. Depending on how busy it is, you might also be asked to help assemble the installations in Velsen-Noord.

You'll work with people of many cultures and various levels of technical knowhow, and enjoy the challenge of working together across cultural and linguistic barriers. You're hands-on and pragmatic in finding solutions that work.
