JOB SUMMARY:
The Agency is assisting a well-established organization in the Grande Prairie area in the confidential recruitment of a Technical Solutions / Field Communications Specialist to join their growing team. This company is expanding into the fibre and automation sector and are seeking a motivated professional to support this growth and strengthen service offerings. The successful candidate will provide hands-on expertise in automation systems and fibre network installations, delivering reliable technical solutions while offering guidance and support to both the team and clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support a team of field technicians and installers by providing technical expertise and guidance.
  • Design, configure, and implement communication and network solutions, including:
    • Fibre installations and splicing
    • Automation systems and integration
    • SCADA data radios and RF repeaters
    • Portable towers and in-building installations
    • Access points, routers, and Wi-Fi hardware
    • Field, commercial, and in-home communications installs
  • Perform tower climbing and equipment installation as required.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical and network-related issues in both field and office settings.
  • Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to align technical solutions with operational needs.
  • Assist with quoting, invoicing, and project documentation for client and internal reporting.
  • Provide technical guidance on radio communications and internet deployment in field applications.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong knowledge of automation systems, fibre installations, RF communications, and communications installs (field, commercial, and in-home).
  • 5-10 years of progressive technical experience in communications, networking, or field technology roles.
  • Tower climbing experience and comfort working at heights.
  • Journeyman Communications Technologist designation or a Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunications, or Computer Engineering is considered a strong asset.
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, equipment setup, and installations.
  • Familiarity with project quoting, budgeting, and invoicing.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on efficiency, reliability, and safety.
