Class A CDL Driver – Local Intermodal (Home Daily | Nights| $74K–$85K/Year)

We are seeking Class A CDL Drivers for a local intermodal position based in the Lockbourne, Ohio area. This role offers daily home time, steady freight, and consistent work within a 250-mile radius of Columbus, OH.

Drivers will primarily move containers between rail yards and local customers, operating out of the Lockbourne rail yard with occasional runs to nearby rail hubs.

What You'll Do

• Haul intermodal containers between rail yards and customer locations
• Operate within a 250-mile radius of Columbus, OH
• Average 3–4 loads per day (~16 loads per week)
• Work with mostly no-touch freight
• Maintain safe and efficient operations during overnight driving hours

Pay & Compensation

• Average Annual Pay: $74,000 – $85,000
• Mileage Pay: Starting at $0.34 CPM (increases yearly up to $0.46 CPM)
• Average Weekly Miles: ~1,200

Additional Pay:

• $33 – Drop & Hook
• $43 – Live Load / Unload
• $25 – Hazmat Load
• $20/hour – Detention
• $20/hour – Rail Delay
• $20/hour – Training Pay (up to 2 weeks)

Detention Pay Starts:

• After 1 hour at rail yard
• After 1.5 hours at customer locations

Schedule & Work Hours

• Work Days: Sunday – Thursday
• Start Time: 10:00 PM
• Typical shift: 10–12 hours

Equipment & Operation

• Day cab tractors
• Intermodal containers
• Slip seat operation (shared trucks between shifts)
• Dispatch from Lockbourne, OH

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 3 months of CDL-A experience
• Hazmat & Tanker endorsements required within 60 days (cost reimbursed)
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Comfortable with night driving and local, high-frequency routes
