Job Title: Chief Technology Officer (CTO – Engineering Focus)

Role Summary

The CTO is responsible for leading the organization's engineering strategy, architecture, and technology innovation. This role focuses on building scalable, secure, and high-performing products and platforms, driving engineering excellence, and enabling rapid, high-quality software delivery aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering Strategy & Leadership

Define and execute the engineering vision and technology roadmap

Align engineering priorities with product and business strategy

Advise CEO and executive team on technology direction and innovation

2. Software Engineering & Delivery

Lead end-to-end software development (design build deploy scale)

Establish best practices in coding standards, testing, CI/CD, and DevOps

Ensure high-quality, reliable, and maintainable codebases

3. Architecture & Scalability

Define and govern system architecture (microservices, APIs, cloud-native)

Ensure scalability, performance, and resilience of platforms

Drive modernization of legacy systems

4. Platform, Cloud & Infrastructure

Oversee cloud strategy (AWS/Azure/GCP) and infrastructure architecture

Ensure efficient use of resources and cost optimization

Implement containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code

5. Security & Reliability

Embed secure coding practices and DevSecOps principles

Ensure system reliability, uptime, and disaster recovery readiness

Partner with security teams on vulnerability management and compliance

6. Data, AI & Innovation

Drive adoption of data platforms, AI/ML, and advanced analytics

Explore emerging technologies to create competitive advantage

Foster a culture of experimentation and innovation

7. Engineering Culture & Talent

Build and lead high-performing engineering teams

Develop engineering leadership and career frameworks

Promote agile, product-led, and DevOps-driven culture

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

15–20+ years of experience in software engineering with 5+ years in senior leadership roles

Proven track record of building and scaling engineering teams and platforms

Strong expertise in system architecture, cloud platforms, and modern development practices

Experience delivering complex, high-scale digital products
