Job Summary:

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, and supporting the financial team with month-end and year-end processes. The ideal candidate should have a strong grasp of accounting principles, familiarity with financial industry practices, and proficiency in bookkeeping software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date financial records and assist in financial reporting.
  • Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Assist with payroll preparation and related tax filings.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
  • Liaise with external auditors or accountants as required.
  • Generate reports on financial status, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA Level II-III or related field preferred
  • Proven 2-3 years experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping practices, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Familiarity with the financial services sector or experience working in finance-related environments is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with regulatory filings and compliance in the finance industry.
  • Understanding of financial statements and investment accounts.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving financial technology tools.
