## About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished and commercially minded **Chief Strategy Officer (CSO)** to lead the development and execution of the company's corporate strategy, growth agenda, investment priorities, and long-term value-creation initiatives.

The CSO will work closely with the **President/CEO, Board, CFO, COO, and senior leadership team** to identify growth opportunities, evaluate strategic investments, strengthen the company's competitive position, and drive transformation across its **construction, real estate development, property investment, and related businesses**.

The ideal candidate will combine strong strategic thinking with **commercial, financial, investment, and execution capabilities**, with a proven track record in construction, real estate, infrastructure, investment, consulting, corporate development, or related sectors.

## Key Responsibilities

### 1. Corporate Strategy & Strategic Planning

* Develop and continuously refine the company's short-, medium-, and long-term corporate strategy.

* Translate the Board's and President/CEO's vision into actionable strategic priorities.

* Lead the annual and multi-year strategic planning process.

* Define strategic objectives, growth targets, KPIs, and strategic initiatives.

* Monitor market developments, competitive dynamics, economic trends, and emerging opportunities.

* Provide strategic recommendations to the President/CEO and Board.

### 2. Growth Strategy & Market Expansion

* Identify and evaluate new markets, sectors, geographies, and business opportunities.

* Develop strategies for expanding the company's construction and real estate development portfolio.

* Assess opportunities in residential, commercial, industrial, mixed-use, hospitality, infrastructure, and other real estate segments.

* Identify new business models, revenue streams, and sources of competitive advantage.

* Develop market-entry and expansion strategies supported by robust commercial analysis.

### 3. Real Estate Development & Portfolio Strategy

* Evaluate the company's existing and future real estate development pipeline.

* Develop portfolio strategies to maximize asset value and investment returns.

* Assess land acquisition, development, redevelopment, and disposal opportunities.

* Analyze market demand, pricing, development economics, and competitive positioning.

* Recommend portfolio optimization and capital allocation priorities.

* Work closely with the COO and development teams to ensure strategic plans translate into successful execution.

### 4. M&A, Joint Ventures & Strategic Investments

* Identify potential acquisitions, strategic investments, partnerships, and joint ventures.

* Lead strategic evaluation and business-case development for major transactions.

* Oversee commercial and strategic due diligence in partnership with Finance, Legal, and Operations.

* Develop transaction theses, valuation assumptions, investment cases, and integration strategies.

* Support negotiations with potential acquisition targets, investors, developers, and strategic partners.

* Monitor post-investment and post-acquisition performance.

### 5. Capital Allocation & Investment Strategy

* Partner with the CFO to establish strategic capital-allocation priorities.

* Evaluate major development projects and investment opportunities based on ROI, IRR, NPV, risk, and strategic fit.

* Develop investment frameworks and decision-making criteria.

* Recommend prioritization of projects and strategic initiatives.

* Ensure capital is directed toward opportunities with the highest long-term value-creation potential.

### 6. Business Performance & Strategic Transformation

* Analyze business-unit performance and identify opportunities for operational and commercial improvement.

* Lead strategic transformation and organizational-change initiatives.

* Develop initiatives to improve profitability, productivity, market share, and enterprise value.

* Establish performance dashboards and strategic reporting for executive management.

* Track strategic initiatives and ensure accountability for delivery.

* Identify underperforming businesses, assets, or projects and recommend corrective strategies.

### 7. Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis

* Establish a structured market-intelligence function.

* Monitor real estate cycles, construction activity, interest rates, financing conditions, government policies, infrastructure spending, and market trends.

* Conduct competitor and benchmark analysis.

* Identify emerging risks and opportunities before they materially impact the business.

* Provide executive leadership with actionable insights to support strategic decisions.

### 8. Strategic Partnerships & Stakeholder Management

* Develop relationships with investors, developers, financial institutions, government entities, consultants, strategic partners, and industry leaders.

* Identify opportunities for strategic alliances and co-development arrangements.

* Support the President/CEO in high-level negotiations and stakeholder engagements.

* Represent the company in strategic, investment, and industry forums.

### 9. Board & Executive Advisory

* Prepare strategic recommendations, investment papers, market assessments, and Board presentations.

* Provide the Board and executive leadership team with independent analysis of major strategic decisions.

* Establish clear reporting on strategic initiatives, risks, milestones, and outcomes.

* Facilitate strategic workshops and executive planning sessions.

### 10. Innovation & Future Growth

* Identify emerging technologies, business models, and trends affecting construction and real estate.

* Evaluate opportunities in areas such as PropTech, construction technology, sustainable development, smart buildings, and digital transformation.

* Develop strategies that strengthen the company's long-term competitiveness.

* Promote innovation and entrepreneurial thinking across the organization.

## Candidate Profile

### Must-Have Experience

* **12–15+ years of progressive experience** in corporate strategy, corporate development, investment, real estate, construction, infrastructure, management consulting, private equity, or a closely related field.

* Previous experience as **Chief Strategy Officer, Strategy Director, VP Strategy, Head of Strategy, Chief Corporate Development Officer, Corporate Development Director, Managing Director, Investment Director**, or equivalent senior role.

* Demonstrated experience developing and executing corporate and growth strategies.

* Strong understanding of **construction, real estate development, property investment, infrastructure, or related sectors**.

* Proven experience evaluating investments, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, or major development opportunities.

* Strong financial modeling, business-case development, and commercial-analysis capabilities.

* Experience presenting strategic recommendations to CEOs, Presidents, Boards, investors, or senior stakeholders.

### Preferred Experience

* Experience within a **diversified construction and real estate group or holding company**.

* Previous exposure to large-scale residential, commercial, industrial, mixed-use, hospitality, infrastructure, or urban-development projects.

* Experience with **M&A, private equity, institutional investment, PPPs, joint ventures, or project finance**.

* Management consulting experience with a leading global or regional strategy firm is advantageous.

* International or multi-country strategy experience is preferred.

* Experience leading corporate transformation or restructuring initiatives.

## Education & Qualifications
