About the job Procurement Officer
Job Purpose:
The Procurement Officer is responsible for coordinating and executing the procurement of goods, works, and services in accordance with the Government of Barbados procurement policies, Public Procurement Act, and international best practices. The officer ensures transparency, efficiency, and value for money in all procurement processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelors Degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Public Sector Management, Finance, or a related field.
- At least two (2) years relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of public procurement principles and practices.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
