Job Summary
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing the organization's daily operations, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and alignment with strategic objectives. The COO plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, optimizing processes, and implementing business strategies across banking, insurance, and investment functions.
This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a deep understanding of financial services and regulatory environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Management
Oversee day-to-day operations across all business units
Ensure efficient delivery of banking, insurance, and investment services
Standardize processes and improve operational workflows
Monitor performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives
2. Strategy Execution
Translate organizational strategy into operational plans
Partner with the CEO and executive team to implement business objectives
Track progress against KPIs and ensure timely execution
Drive organizational alignment across departments
3. Process Optimization & Efficiency
Identify inefficiencies and implement cost-effective solutions
Leverage technology and automation to improve productivity
Enhance customer experience through streamlined processes
Lead operational transformation and digital initiatives
4. Financial Oversight
Manage operational budgets and cost controls
Monitor profitability and operational financial performance
Support financial planning, forecasting, and resource allocation
Ensure cost-to-income ratio improvements
5. Risk Management & Compliance
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
Oversee operational risk, internal controls, and audit processes
Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to mitigate risks
Maintain strong governance practices
6. Leadership & Team Management
Lead and develop department heads and operational teams
Foster a high-performance, results-driven culture
Drive talent development and succession planning
Encourage cross-functional collaboration
7. Stakeholder Management
Work closely with CEO, Board, and executive leadership
Coordinate with regulators, partners, and external stakeholders
Ensure alignment between operational execution and strategic goals
Key Requirements
Education
Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Operations, or related field
Relevant certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP, CFA) are an advantage
Experience
12–18+ years of experience in banking, financial services, insurance, or investment sectors
Proven experience in operations leadership roles (e.g., COO, Head of Operations, VP Operations)
Demonstrated success in managing large-scale operations and transformation initiatives
