About the Role
We are partnering with a digital business solutions firm seeking an experienced IT Delivery Lead to own end-to-end delivery across the Sydney region. You will lead delivery teams, drive client relationships, ensure quality and timely outcomes, and continuously improve delivery practices for complex software, cloud, and integration programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and be accountable for delivery of multiple digital programs and projects across the Sydney region (software development, cloud migration, integrations, SaaS implementations, managed services).
- Act as primary delivery point-of-contact for senior client stakeholders; build and maintain trusted relationships.
- Drive delivery planning: scope, estimates, resource plans, schedules, budgets, risk/issue registers, and change control.
- Manage and coach cross-functional teams (project managers, engineers, architects, QA, BA, operations), including performance reviews and capacity planning.
- Ensure consistent application of delivery methodologies (Agile/Scrum, DevOps, CI/CD) and governance frameworks.
- Monitor delivery KPIs (on-time, scope, quality, budget, NPS), report status to leadership, and escalate appropriately.
- Own delivery risk management and remediation plans; lead post-implementation reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Sales/Account Management to support proposals, statements of work, and solution transitioning from pre-sales to delivery.
- Manage vendor and third-party supplier performance and contracts.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements relevant to client projects.
- Champion operational excellence, automation, and efficient processes to maximise value and profitability.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent; relevant certifications (PMP, Prince2, Scrum Master, SAFe) preferred.
- 7+ years experience leading delivery of digital/IT solutions; 3+ years in a client-facing delivery leadership role.
- Proven experience managing software development, cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), integration, and SaaS projects at scale.
- Strong track record delivering in Agile environments and implementing DevOps practices.
- Experience managing teams of 10–50+ across disciplines and coordinating multiple simultaneous programs.
- Strong commercial acumen: contract management, budgeting, forecasting, margin control.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with senior client and executive audiences.
- Solid risk management, governance, and quality assurance capability.
Technical & Business Skills
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, microservices, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Understanding of enterprise architecture, data integration, security and compliance (e.g., ISO, SOC, GDPR/Australian privacy).
- Proficient with delivery tooling (Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, MS Project) and reporting dashboards.
- Ability to translate technical trade-offs into business impact and decisions.
