Senior Data Engineer – ADF | Databricks to Snowflake (Contract)

About the Role

We are urgently seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer for a 6-month contract to lead critical Databricks to Snowflake migration and data platform modernization initiatives.

This is a high-priority contract role requiring immediate availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and orchestration.
• Lead end-to-end Databricks to Snowflake migration projects (code conversion, performance tuning, cost optimisation & validation).
• Implement advanced Snowflake features (Snowpark, Dynamic Tables, Streams & Tasks, RBAC, Resource Monitors, etc.).
• Develop containerised data workloads using Docker + Kubernetes.
• Ensure pipelines are production-grade, scalable, observable, and cost-efficient.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor team members.

Must-Have Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) – Pipelines, Mapping Data Flows, Linked Services, CI/CD.
• Proven expertise in Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake) and successful Databricks Snowflake migrations.
• SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced certification (highly preferred).
• Solid experience in Containerisation – Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
• Advanced SQL, Python, and PySpark skills.
• Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills.
• Citizen or Permanent Resident (PR) only – No sponsorship available.
• Must be able to join within 15 days (Immediate joiners preferred).
