Senior Java Engineer (Networking focus)

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and develop high-performance backend systems with a focus on scalability and reliability
• Build and optimize network-layer components (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, tunneling, proxies) in Java
• Work with asynchronous frameworks (e.g., Netty) to implement efficient, non-blocking architectures
• Develop and maintain distributed system components, including load balancing and failover strategies
• Design integrations across cloud and on-premises environments
• Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and Engineering teams to deliver production-grade solutions
• Contribute to architectural decisions and participate in code reviews
• Leverage AI tools to enhance development workflows, automate tasks, and improve code quality

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of experience in backend development with Java
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, sockets, HTTP, proxies)
• Hands-on experience with Netty or similar frameworks (Vert.x, gRPC, etc.)
• Solid knowledge of concurrency, multithreading, and non-blocking I/O
• Experience with load balancing concepts (L4/L7, connection pooling, failover)
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, especially in low-level systems
• Experience with test automation (JUnit, Mockito, etc.)
• Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, or MongoDB
• Understanding of integration protocols (REST, WebSockets, messaging systems like Kafka/AMQP/MQTT)
• Comfortable working in an AI-augmented engineering environment

Nice to have:

• Experience with TypeScript
• Exposure to distributed data platforms or integration-heavy systems
