Business Development Executive

About the Role

Our client, a leading publishing group, is seeking a dynamic and confident Business Development Executive to join their growing team. This is an opportunity for a self-motivated individual who thrives in collaborative environments and brings fresh perspectives to creative ideation and marketing strategy.

This isn't about following a script. We're looking for someone who'll make the role their own, bring their personality to it and grow with the business.

Day to Day

Finding opportunities:

• Research potential clients in advertising and media
• Build a list of prospects worth pursuing
• Keep track of who you're talking to and where things stand

Winning work:

• Get to know what clients actually need
• Work with the creative team on pitches and proposals
• Lead conversations from first contact through to signed deals
• Meet decision-makers and build proper relationships

Staying sharp:

• Attend industry events and make connections
• Keep an eye on what competitors are doing
• Spot trends and new opportunities
• Share what's working (and what isn't)

What We Need

Experience:

• At least a year in sales or business development
• A degree in Marketing or Business helps, but isn't essential

Skills:

• Good with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Excel
• Organised and able to manage your time well
• Can think creatively when solving problems
• Listen properly and pay attention to detail
• Bounce back when things don't go your way
• Self-motivatedyou don't need pushing

Most importantly:

• You hit your targets
• You're genuinely interested in advertising and media
• You see a challenge and want to tackle it

You're confident working with different teams. You bring energy and ideas, not just effort. When something's difficult, you get stuck in rather than step back.
