Our client, one of Ireland's most inspiring media publications, is seeking an exceptional commercial leader to drive the next chapter of growth. This is a senior leadership role for someone who understands the intersection of creativity, culture and commerce—and knows how to build high-performing teams that deliver extraordinary results.

The Head of Sales will sit within the senior leadership team, with full ownership of the commercial strategy and a team to develop and inspire. You'll be the driving force behind ambitious revenue targets, transformational client partnerships, and innovative commercial products that set new standards in the Irish media landscape.

Your Remit

  • Lead and develop a high-performing commercial team, building capability, confidence and ambition across your function
  • Own the commercial strategy and P&L for advertising, partnerships, sponsorships and experiential revenue
  • Build and nurture C-suite and senior-level relationships with Ireland's leading agencies, brands and cultural partners
  • Architect and sell transformative brand partnerships and integrated sponsorship solutions across all platforms
  • Drive sustainable revenue growth across print, digital, social, broadcast, events and emerging channels
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration with editorial, creative, production and events leadership
  • Shape the commercial roadmap—identifying white space opportunities and building new revenue streams
  • Set team targets, manage performance, and create a culture of accountability and excellence
  • Represent the brand at the highest level with confidence, credibility and strategic vision

  • Experienced in building, leading and developing teams to consistently exceed targets

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a commercial team, setting clear objectives and fostering professional development
  • Own revenue targets and commercial KPIs, with full accountability for performance
  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy in partnership with senior leadership
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key agencies, brands and partners
  • Create compelling, strategic proposals and lead high-stakes pitch presentations
  • Identify and develop new commercial opportunities, products and revenue streams
  • Ensure operational excellence across client service, campaign delivery and account management
  • Collaborate with content, creative and production leadership to deliver standout integrated campaigns
  • Provide strategic oversight of budgets, forecasting, pipeline and performance reporting
  • Champion the brand's commercial positioning in the market and at industry events

Essential Experience

  • 7+ years in senior media sales, partnership or commercial leadership roles in a media publisher
  • Proven track record of leading teams and building high-performance cultures
  • Demonstrated success in delivering significant revenue growth and exceeding targets
  • Strong existing relationships within Irish agencies, brands and cultural organisations
  • Experience managing P&L and owning commercial strategy
  • Deep knowledge of the Irish creative and cultural industries
  • Track record in sponsorships, branded content, experiential or integrated campaigns
  • Line management experience with evidence of developing talent

Salary: €65,000 DOE + Performance Bonus + uncapped commission
