THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you a strategic thinker who thrives on turning big-picture goals into clear, impactful communications programmes? Do you have the leadership skills to coordinate complex projects and bring teams together to deliver meaningful change?

This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-influence, organisation-wide communications role at one of Ireland's most respected and purpose-driven charities. As Strategic Communications Manager, you'll play a central role in shaping how the organisation communicates — helping it reach more people, influence behaviour, and drive lasting impact for the cause it champions.

You'll join a collaborative, values-led team and lead high-impact strategic initiatives that strengthen the organisation's voice, brand, and effectiveness. This is a role for someone who wants their work to mean something.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE YOUR MARK

  • Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of strategic communications programmes aligned to organisational priorities and OKRs.
  • Translate high-level objectives into structured, measurable workplans with clear milestones and outcomes.
  • Coordinate cross-organisational initiatives, ensuring alignment across Communications, Fundraising, Operations, and other teams.
  • Develop and implement strategic communications planning approaches grounded in audience insight and channel strategy.
  • Support the delivery and embedding of the organisation's brand strategy, ensuring consistency and clarity across all communications.
  • Establish reporting frameworks, dashboards, and evaluation methods to measure impact and inform decision-making.
  • Drive improvements in systems, workflows, and ways of working to enhance efficiency and collaboration.
  • Lead the transition of strategic communications capability from external partners to in-house expertise.

SOUND LIKE YOU?

You bring strategic depth, organisational rigour, and a genuine passion for purposeful work. You're as comfortable in the data as you are in the room.

  • Significant experience leading complex communications, brand, or organisational projects.
  • Strong strategic planning skills — you can translate objectives into actionable, structured programmes.
  • Proven ability to influence and coordinate across teams without direct line management authority.
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience using data and insight to drive performance.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.

BONUS POINTS

The following aren't essential, but would make you stand out:

  • Experience delivering brand development or repositioning projects.
  • Background in organisational change or transformation initiatives.
  • Experience in the charity, not-for-profit, or values-led sector.
  • Experience in advocacy, public affairs, or policy communications.
  • Experience managing external agencies or consultants.
  • Knowledge of the Irish media, charity, or public policy landscape.
