About the job Product/Project Management: Technical project manager (remote)
Our client, an AI-driven platform transforming industrial operations through significant cost savings, is seeking a Technical Product Manager.
The Role
As the company's first Product Manager, you will own the full product lifecycle — from concept through launch — and play a defining role in shaping what gets built and why.
This is a highly hands-on, forward-deployed role. You will embed directly with customers, deeply understand their operational workflows, rapidly prototype solutions in the field, and translate real-world pain points into scalable product features.
If you thrive on ownership, enjoy working in ambiguity, and love balancing technical depth with big-picture strategy, this is a rare opportunity to build a product function from the ground up.
What You'll Do
- Spend ~25% of your time onsite with customers across the U.S. (with occasional international travel)
- Shadow teams across departments to deeply understand operational workflows, reporting structures, and communication dynamics
- Rapidly prototype solutions in the field — iterating live with users and feeding insights back to engineering
- Translate complex operational pain points into high-impact product features
- Partner closely with engineering and sales to build tight feedback loops
- Drive and prioritize the product roadmap, aligning solutions to business goals
- Collaborate with government and industrial partners to help shape emerging standards
- Turn ambiguous, high-stakes problems into practical, scalable solutions
- Use data and customer feedback to continuously refine the core product experience
- Help build the product management foundation as the company scales
What Were Looking For
- 2–8 years of experience in forward-deployed engineering, technical product management, or software engineering
- Experience shipping enterprise-grade products
- Background at a Seed–Series C, VC-backed startup (or founding experience)
- Experience building for industrial, defense, or government customers preferred
- Strong backend-leaning engineering fundamentals and computer science background
- Ability to rapidly prototype and vibe-code directly with customers
- Comfortable in client-facing technical environments
- Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated initiative (side projects, startup attempts, etc.)
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
This is a high-ownership role at an ambitious startup building at the intersection of AI and industrial operations — ideal for someone who wants to build category-defining technology alongside operators in the field.
