About the job Director of Marketing - hybrid (1-2 days in office)
Our client, a high-growth software company, is seeking its foundational Director of Marketing. As our first dedicated marketing hire, you will be the owner of our entire marketing strategy, execution, and growth engine. This is a highly strategic and hands-on role where you will simultaneously drive explosive customer acquisition while building the foundation for a scalable, high-performing marketing organization.

What You'll Own and Execute
- Growth & Demand Generation: Design, implement, and execute customer acquisition strategies across all paid and organic channels (email, paid social, content, SEO, video, influencer, referral marketing) to drive pipeline growth. You must be able to personally set up and optimize ad campaigns (Meta, Google, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok).
- Content & Brand: Create highly engaging, cross-platform content from long-form blogs and video case studies to short-form viral campaigns to build brand awareness and drive engagement. Manage and grow our social media presence (Twitter/X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram).
- Partnerships & Advocacy: Develop joint marketing campaigns with key partners (camera manufacturers, software integrations, distributors) and create essential enablement materials for resellers/channels. Design and launch referral, loyalty, and ambassador programs to maximize customer retention and advocacy.
- Events & Tech Stack: Own all aspects of conference and event marketing, including strategy, booth design, lead capture, and follow-up. Select, set up, and optimize our core marketing technology stack, leveraging AI-driven tools for maximum automation and efficiency.
- Data & Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze marketing performance across all channels, and deliver data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
Leadership & Scaling
- Foundation Builder: Lay the groundwork for a world-class marketing function, including processes, tools, and reporting.
- Team Leadership: Over time, you will be responsible for hiring, growing, and leading a high-performing internal marketing team.
- Agency Management: Manage and direct external agencies, freelancers, and contractors to scale execution and specialized work.
What You'll Bring
Essential Experience
- 5+ years of demonstrable experience in SaaS marketing, with expertise in both B2B (focused on pipeline growth, lead generation, and working closely with Sales teams) and a strong understanding of B2C/Consumer marketing skills (digital ads, short-form content, viral campaigns, product-led growth).
- Startup DNA: Previous, direct experience at an early-stage startup (Seed to Series B) in a Go-to-Market (GTM) function.
- Strategic & Hands-On Balance: Proven ability to develop a high-level marketing strategy and execute tactically, including personally running digital ad campaigns.
- Industry Knowledge: A strong understanding of the Audio/Video industry, AV, or Broadcast market is required.
- Management Experience: Required experience managing at least 1-3 direct reports or leading multiple external agencies/contractors.
- Channel Expertise: Specific experience in Partner/Channel marketing, including creating successful enablement materials for partners and resellers.
