The Donor Relations & Communication Specialist serves as a vital bridge between our organization and our support community. This role is dedicated to nurturing meaningful connections with donors through personalized outreach, ensuring they feel valued and informed of the impact of their contributions. The ideal candidate will combine professional communication skills with a ministry-focused heart, providing both information and spiritual support to our partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Donor Cultivation & Spiritual Engagement: Execute strategic outbound calls to donors to express gratitude, report on mission milestones, and offer intercessory prayer, fostering a deep sense of community and partnership.
- Digital Communication Management: Orchestrate email and SMS outreach, including the setup, scheduling, and management of automated follow-up sequences to ensure consistent donor engagement. Write personalized and thoughtful letters for donors to be sent via snail mail.
- Multi-Channel Communication: Maintain and publish project progress reports to keep donors informed via the website and other relevant communication streams. Manage and respond to inquiries across various platforms, including email and social media, ensuring all correspondence is professional, timely, and mission-aligned.
- Database Management & Data Hygiene: Maintain the integrity of the donor database by performing regular CRM data hygiene, ensuring all donor records, contact histories, and preferences are accurate and up-to-date.
- Strategic Outreach: Conduct donor engagement activities during optimal windows across U.S. time zones to ensure high connectivity and respectful outreach.
- Bilingual Correspondence: Utilize English and Spanish language skills to communicate effectively with a diverse donor base (as applicable). Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Conduct donor surveys. Then, provide ongoing insights and performance reports by analyzing donor response on surveys, trends and engagement analytics to optimize outreach strategies.
- Administrative Support: Provide versatile secretarial and administrative assistance as needed to support departmental operations and ensure organizational efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Faith Commitment: Must be a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in regular standing, with a strong commitment to the church's values and mission.
- Linguistic Proficiency: Native-level fluency in English is required; conversational Spanish proficiency is highly preferred.
- Communication Excellence: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey empathy and gratitude authentically.
- Technical Savvy: Proficient in managing digital communications, including email systems and social media engagement tools. Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Trello) is a plus.
- Operational Alignment: Ability to maintain a work schedule that aligns with standard U.S. business hours and optimal donor engagement times.
- Scheduling Flexibility: Amenable to ad hoc client meetings and demonstrates the flexibility to accommodate various time zones as needed to support global or domestic operations.
