Our client is a multi-disciplinary engineering and project management firm specializing in mining, oil sands, oil & gas, and industrial facility projects across Western Canada. Role

This person will manage financial records accurate, current, and ready for review. As a core part of the financial operation, you will maintain the records that keep the business running by handling daily transactions and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record Maintenance: Maintain records of financial transactions, establish accounts, and post transactions.

  • Operational Accounting: Handle accounts payable and receivable, and reconcile accounts.

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare weekly profit/loss reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.

  • Ledger Management: Balance subsidiary accounts, reconcile entries, and maintain the general ledger.

  • Compliance & Advisory: Comply with federal, provincial, and local legal requirements by filing reports and advising management on financial trends.

  • Systems Development: Develop systems for accounting transactions and maintain the chart of accounts.

What Do You Need to Succeed?

  • Education & Experience: Experience in accounting, finance, or a related field. Previous bookkeeping experience is strictly required.

  • Software Mastery: Proven experience with QuickBooks.

  • Technical Skills: Strong analytical and data entry skills with the ability to handle complex financial information.

  • Ethics: High level of confidentiality and discretion with financial data.

  • Work Setup: Ability to work autonomously from Colombia, adapting to an international technical environment. Please note: You must provide your own high-performance computer; the company will provide all necessary software licenses.
  • Language: Advanced English level (B2+ or above) is mandatory for technical coordination and client meetings.

  • Experience with BigTime software.

  • CPA designation or currently in progress.

  • Experience working with multiple businesses under one umbrella.
