Position Overview:

A nationally ranked, employee-owned engineering and consulting firm is seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer to join their Aviation Division in Hunt Valley, MD. This role involves the design and management of landside civil engineering projects supporting aviation clients. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction documentation, project coordination, and managing subconsultants and internal teams. Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development of contract documents, including plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates

Organize and facilitate project meetings with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders

Maintain and apply quality control standards throughout the project lifecycle

Analyze topographic, geologic, and survey data to support design planning

Conduct design computations and provide technical input

Manage and coordinate subconsultants and internal support disciplines

Support or lead project task assignments and ensure timely delivery of milestones

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution

Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent

48 years of experience in civil design

Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer/MicroStation

Experience with detailed construction cost estimating

Strong skills in technical specification writing

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Demonstrated experience managing tasks and small project components

Preferred Qualifications:

Supervisory or lead experience on project tasks

Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars, Engineering Briefs, and Orders

Working knowledge of DoD Unified Facilities Criteria

Road/highway design experience

Understanding of project management fundamentals (budgeting, scheduling, etc.)
