Salary Range: $65,000 - $90,000 annually
Facility Size: 0 - 49 beds
Position Overview:
Actively hiring experienced Registered Nurses for the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) to deliver high-acuity care to critically ill medical, surgical, and cardiovascular patients. This role includes managing patients with advanced monitoring and life-sustaining therapies such as ventilation support, Impella and balloon pumps, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
This position requires an experienced and confident RN who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership in clinical practice, patient advocacy, and staff support throughout the continuum of inpatient care.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care from admission to discharge, including discharge planning
- Monitor and manage patients requiring complex interventions such as:
- A-lines and central lines
- Cardiac balloon pumps and Impella
- Mechanical ventilation and CRRT
- Chest tubes and multiple IVs
- Supervise and coordinate care with CNAs, LPNs, and support staff
- Act as a clinical leader and assist with staff preceptorship and training
- Communicate effectively with providers, charge nurses, and leadership team
- Maintain and implement evidence-based policies and procedures with minimal supervision
Required Education and Licensure:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN)
- Current RN license in the State of Montana (or compact state)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- PALS required within 6 months of hire (with ongoing renewal)
- Preferred certifications: EPNC, TNCC
Experience Requirements:
- 12 years of experience in Cardiac Surgical ICU or CVICU, required
- Prior experience with advanced cardiovascular equipment (e.g., Impella, balloon pumps, CRRT), strongly preferred
- Background in an advanced medical/surgical unit with critical care experience
Skills and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of advanced nursing practices and procedures
- Ability to operate high-level clinical equipment and monitors
- Excellent communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to emergencies efficiently
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team
