Job Description: 

A Louisville/Metro certified structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection shop is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Construction Project Manager/Estimator to work on projects involving structural steel, stairs, railings, and miscellaneous steel items. The ideal candidate should have experience in Division 5 commercial construction project management & estimating, be detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and be able to work well under pressure. Consideration will be given to any candidate with some experience in a related steel manufacturing industry.

General Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with other team members (estimators, detailers, fabrication, and erection personnel) to manage a projects demands
  • Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a project
  • Evaluate and analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation
  • Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines
  • Estimate/negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Identify and communicate potential risks and opportunities associated with each project
  • Work with accounting personnel to manage job costs for individual projects
  • Attending site meetings as the project demands and relate all information to team members
  • Keep up to date with industry standards, codes, and regulations, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field. (Will consider experience over degree).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction project management/estimating.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
