Key responsibilities
The Chief of Kindergarten is a strategic and compassionate leader responsible for overseeing the kindergarten division at Combi Plaza, which follows the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC). This role ensures the delivery of high-quality early childhood education for children aged 2 to 6, while fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
1. Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for the kindergarten aligned with Combi Plazas mission and the IEYC framework. - Lead curriculum implementation and ensure alignment with IEYC learning strands and personal goals. - Promote innovation and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
2. Operational Management
- Oversee daily operations including scheduling, staffing, and compliance. - Ensure safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards are consistently met. - Collaborate with administrative teams for resource planning and facility management.
3. Staff Supervision & Development
- Recruit, train, and evaluate kindergarten educators and support staff. - Facilitate ongoing professional development, especially in IEYC pedagogy. - Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
4. Child-Centered Focus
- Monitor child development and learning outcomes using IEYC assessment tools. - Implement inclusive practices and individualized support where needed. - Ensure emotional, physical, and cognitive well-being of all children.
5. Community Engagement
- Build strong relationships with families and the wider school community. - Represent the kindergarten in school-wide initiatives and external partnerships. - Promote kindergarten programs through outreach and marketing.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in early childhood education or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of child development, curriculum design, and educational best practices.
- Proven experience with the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Native English; additional languages (e.g., Japanese) are a plus.
- Familiarity with international education standards and multicultural environments.
- Passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering a nurturing learning environment.
Salary range
Up to USD2000gross
