Key responsibilities

This role is responsible for Urban Design and Management of Urban Infra-Engineering Design.

Primary Function:

1. Urban Design Research (benchmarking, positioning, UD options/concepts)

2. Urban Design Development (development framework, development structure, urban grids, urban transportation system, green-infra development strategy, sustainable development featues and components, all aspect of detailed urban design development, including all necessary layers of urban design plans land use, urban massing, 3D city modelling, plot ratio plan, green & blue plan, transportation plan, PCN or park connector network, etc )

3. Urban Design Coordination and Management (project schedule, phasing plan)

4. Documentation (design report, presentation materials, design specs, contracts, write-up etc)

5. Design Supervision and/or training

Duties and Responsibilities

To know and be familiar with local urban planning laws and regulations

To review/develop/improve the full scope of urban design aspects of the township

To manage and to work out (together with the township project team comprising internal and external professionals) all the required urban design components of the township development, including urban streetscape, public spaces, green design components such as WSUD (water-sensitive urban design) and green urban infrastructure, and to ensure designs and drawings of projects from both external and internal professional and consultants are well designed, well considered, well integrated to meet the Management and/or investment and sales and marketing goals and objectives

To work closely with the Management, internal departmental colleagues, and external service partners/consultants/other related professionals (including other related professionals, such as engineers, urban planners, landscape architects, construction representatives and interior designers involving in Projects), to deliver international best practices and quality standards required/expected of the township project(s)

To keep and maintain excellent communication and relationship with the relevant authorities and the respective service partners (architects, landscape architects, infra-engineers, transport engineers, project/construction managers, marketing managers, real estate managers, facilities management managers etc.)

Job Requirements

• Experience: Preferably with more than 10 years (at least 7 years) of professional/industrial experience in urban planning/urban design services profession involving township development/large scale master-development projects
• Qualification: Good university degree from recognized international reputable tertiary institution
• Attitude: Proactive, positive, organized & systematic, value team work, believe in design excellence, committed to high standard of integrity and spirit of excellence
• Design & Organisational skills: placemaking and community design (building, street, and public space types and placemaking principles); project organisation and management; demonstrated creative ability in urban design, urban massing/architectural concept, urban public space design; and stakeholders engagement capabilities
• Computer skills: proficient in AutoCAD/Autodesk, the Adobe Suite, SketchUp, InDesign, Rhino, Grasshopper, GIS and familiar with graphic/infographic design
• And possessing good sense of reality and good EQ, good oral and written communication, and visual and presentation skills
