Key responsibilities
We're looking for a passionate and skilled Upper Primary School English Teacher to inspire students in grades [e.g., 4-6, or specific grades like P4, P5, P6]. You'll develop and deliver engaging English language arts lessons, foster a dynamic learning environment, and help students build strong foundational skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
- Instruction: Develop and teach a comprehensive English language arts curriculum (e.g., phonics, reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, creative writing, oral communication). Plan and deliver interactive lessons using diverse texts, literacy games, group activities, and technology. Create a positive, inclusive classroom where students feel encouraged to explore language and express themselves.
- Assessment: Design and use various assessments (e.g., reading fluency checks, writing samples, comprehension quizzes, presentations) to track student progress. Provide timely, constructive feedback and maintain accurate records of student achievement.
- Student Support: Build positive relationships with students and manage the classroom effectively. Provide individualized support for literacy development and collaborate with colleagues to meet student needs, including those learning English as an additional language.
- Professionalism: Participate in school and departmental meetings, continuous professional development, and contribute to the school community. Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and development.
- Resource Management: Select and utilize appropriate English language arts resources, including books, digital tools, and teaching aids, to support curriculum delivery.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Primary Education, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Certification: Valid state teaching license/certification in Primary Education or English Language Arts , or a recognized teaching qualification such as TESOL/CELTA (if teaching ESL/EAL focus).
- Experience: At least 2 years of upper primary English teaching experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of primary English language arts curriculum and pedagogical approaches. Excellent teaching, classroom management, and organizational skills. Proficient in integrating educational technology. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Passion for fostering literacy and inspiring young learners.
Salary range
Start from $1200 (negotiable based on experience)
