Position Summary
The LTL Pricing Analyst plays a key role in driving profitability and market competitiveness within the less-than-truckload (LTL) space. This individual will analyze freight data, develop strategic pricing models, and partner closely with sales, operations, and finance to deliver accurate, market-aligned pricing solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Pricing Strategy & Analysis
- Analyze freight rates, fuel costs, accessorials, and market trends to develop competitive pricing strategies
- Build and maintain rate matrices, tariff structures, and lane-specific pricing models
- Benchmark pricing against industry standards to identify gaps and opportunities
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and margin improvement initiatives
Bid & Proposal Management
- Prepare and deliver accurate, customer-specific pricing proposals and bids within required timelines
- Prioritize and manage multiple bids simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Support contract negotiations with data-driven pricing insights and recommendations
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with sales, operations, and accounting teams to ensure pricing strategies align with business objectives and execution capabilities
- Collaborate with operations to validate service feasibility and cost structures
- Maintain strong relationships with carriers to secure competitive rates and stay informed on market trends
Performance Tracking & Optimization
- Track and analyze KPIs to measure pricing effectiveness and profitability
- Identify process improvements and implement best practices within pricing workflows
- Maintain accurate records in CRM systems and generate reports as needed
Additional Responsibilities
- Conduct customer and market research to support pricing decisions
- Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives
- Stay current on industry trends through ongoing training and development
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience in LTL, freight brokerage, or transportation pricing
- Strong understanding of LTL tariffs, NMFC classifications, and carrier rating systems
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling)
- Experience with data visualization or analytics tools (SQL, Power BI, Tableau, etc.) preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large datasets
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
- Solid understanding of LTL cost drivers and market dynamics
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred
