Role Overview

The Assistant Account Manager supports the sales and account management team in managing and growing accounts within the Hong Kong government and education sectors. The role focuses on tender support, client coordination, and solution positioning, with a strong emphasis on IT solutions and compliance with public-sector procurement standards. This position works closely with internal sales, technical, and operations teams to ensure timely, accurate, and competitive submissions, while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Account & Client Support

  • Support Account Managers in managing day-to-day interactions with government departments, statutory bodies, and education institutions.
  • Assist in maintaining strong, professional relationships with existing clients through regular communication and follow-ups.
  • Coordinate meetings, presentations, and solution briefings with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Handle client enquiries and ensure timely responses aligned with service and commercial objectives.

Tendering & Proposal Management

  • Assist in the preparation of tenders, proposals, quotations, and RFP/RFQ responses in accordance with Hong Kong government and education sector procurement requirements.
  • Coordinate internally with technical, finance, and operations teams to gather required information for tender submissions.
  • Ensure all tender documents meet compliance, formatting, and submission deadlines.
  • Maintain an organized repository of tender documents, pricing models, and reference materials.

Procurement & Market Tracking

  • Monitor and track tender opportunities through government portals and other official procurement channels.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of procurement guidelines, tender procedures, and compliance requirements for government and education sectors.
  • Analyze tender requirements and assist in assessing bid feasibility and competitiveness.
  • Support reporting on tender pipelines, submission status, and outcomes.

IT Solutions & Sales Support

  • Develop a strong understanding of the company's IT solutions, including infrastructure, software, cloud, cybersecurity, or managed services (as applicable).
  • Assist in solution positioning by aligning client needs with appropriate IT offerings.
  • Support the preparation of technical and commercial solution summaries for client presentations and proposals.
  • Work closely with pre-sales or technical teams to ensure accurate solution representation.

CRM, Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM systems, including client interactions, opportunities, and tender progress.
  • Prepare sales reports, pipeline updates, and account summaries for management review.
  • Support contract administration, including document tracking and renewal reminders.
  • Perform other administrative and coordination tasks as required to support the sales team.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
  • 2–4 years of experience in account management, sales support, or tender-related roles, preferably within IT or public-sector projects.
  • Familiarity with Hong Kong government procurement processes and education sector operations.
  • Strong knowledge of IT solutions as a core requirement.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Cantonese.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience handling government or education-sector tenders and contracts.
  • Basic understanding of IT solution architecture or technology consulting environments.
  • Knowledge of procurement portals and compliance documentation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to develop a long-term career in account management or sales.
