Job Position: Base Assistant

The Base Assistant is responsible for the complete assistance at the dive center area. Including diving equipment, facilities and compressor handling. The Base Assistant must comply with all duties and responsibilities in this document but not limited to it.

Competency

The Base Assistant must:

• Be capable and fit to undertake related tasks at the water sports center, beach, and sea.

• Be able to swim.

• Participate in all training required to acquire experience for the better result of his/her duties.

• Be highly responsible and reliable.

• Have the ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.

• Follow the dress code of the Company.

• Selected candidates will have company training before starting the job.

• Emergency First Response - International Certification.

Duties and responsibilities

• Have a good working knowledge of diving equipment, preparation, and preventive maintenance.

• Keep diving equipment, equipment room, and diving areas clean and tidy at all times.

• Filling dive tanks and supervising dive tanks quantities required for the operation. Handling compressor with care.

• Fill the compressor control sheet and keep basic maintenance. Keep the compressor room always clean and tidy. Report any malfunction.

• Communicate with the dive manager about any diving equipment failures or malfunctions.

• Fill daily equipment inventory correctly.

• Assist with the diving equipment needed for the pool diving activities.

• Provide assistance on the boat or out of the boat when it is necessary such as: carrying tanks, boxes, and equipment, pushing trolleys, and cleaning the boats or the base.

• Supervise proper cleaning and function of DAN oxygen O2 equipment sets.

• Have diving equipment prepared before guest arrival.

• Advise divers on diving equipment to use and help where appropriate to find the best suitable equipment from the dive center.

• Support and assist Instructors and Divemasters with diving equipment needs at the operation.

• Comply with the tasks assigned by the Base Leader or Dive Team Leader.

• Comply with the Companys Appearance and Conduct Code.
