About the job Senior Staff Accountant
We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant for a full time and direct hire role for one of our amazing partners in Redondo Beach, CA. This is a hybrid onsite role, where you can work remotely one day a week.
This Senior Staff Accountant should be detail-oriented and analytical. You will be focused on the accounts payable side of accounting. You will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process, entering and coding bills in QuickBooks and Bill.com, performing account reconciliations, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies. We need someone with strong problem-solving skills, a passion for accuracy, and a desire to grow in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams on billing and reporting matters for the company.
- Perform daily accounting functions, which includes processing payables, managing AP files, and posting journal entries.
- Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy in the general ledger.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audits as needed.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and company financial policies.
Required Skills
- At least 3+ years of experience in accounting or related field.
- Expert in QuickBooks and Microsoft excel.
- Strong understanding of financial statements like income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Strong understanding of journal entries and debits and credits.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting standards.
- Strong communication skills to clearly present financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
