This role is perfect for a recent Warehouse Apprentice looking to take their next step!

Working pattern:

• Flex: 8am to 5pm, or 9am to 6pm
• Monday to Friday
• Daytime shift (30 minute break)

The role:

• Operate Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) including a motorised pallet truck, forklift, counterbalance, reach truck (or other MHE) to load stores, transport pallets, rearrange stock or place heavy/large objects, as appropriate.

• Ensuring products are stored safely and labelled correctly.

• Ensure orders are packaged and labelled correctly to prevent returned orders.

• Assist in loading/unloading with appropriate apparatus and following safety protocol.

• Inspect stock for defects or damage, reporting any concerns to the shift manager.

• Occasionally assisting customers at the Trade Counter.

• Maintain accurate records of inventory.

• Conduct regular stock checks and report any discrepancies.

• Report Health and Safety concerns immediately, following the reporting procedure.

• Rely on appropriate equipment/tools for the job, following the correct system.

• Be aware of, and participate in, the appropriate training to become multi-skilled.
  

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment in your area.

Your profile:

• Industry knowledge and experience (desirable).
• Knowledge of our competitors, and our group companies (desirable).
• Basic knowledge and understand of general Health & Safety.
• Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution centre.
• Familiarity with goods-in and goods-out, inventory and general logistics.
• Happy to carry out manual handling duties as required
• Comfortable working within a fast-paced and results-driven environment
• Flexible attitude toward working hours (rotational shifts, or peak sales)
• Excellent customer service skills
