About the job Grid Connection Manager (Bucharest, on-site)
Location: Bucharest (on-site) with regular travel to project sites.
Type of Collaboration: Permanent employment contract.
Main Purpose of the Role
Coordinate and manage all activities related to high-voltage substations (110 kV and above) and grid connection processes for our client in Romania. The Grid Connection Manager ensures that all design, execution, and commissioning works comply with Romanian and EU standards, Transelectrica/DSO requirements, and the companys internal procedures. Acts as the technical and commercial interface with clients, grid operators, and subcontractors for all HV-related aspects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the High Voltage and Grid Connection scope for all Romanian projects, from tendering to commissioning.
- Review and validate design documentation for substations and grid interfaces (primary, secondary, control, protection, and SCADA).
- Coordinate directly with Transelectrica, DSOs, and ANRE to secure technical approvals, ATRs, and grid connection permits.
- Prepare and review technical offers, BoQs, and cost estimations for substation and grid connection works.
- Support Tendering and Sales teams with HV-related documentation and clarifications.
- Supervise and evaluate subcontractors during design, procurement, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Oversee testing, FAT/SAT, and ensure the integration of SCADA, protection, and metering systems.
- Conduct technical site visits and provide engineering support during construction.
- Track and report project progress, risks, and budget performance for HV activities.
- Develop internal procedures, checklists, and standard specifications for HV and grid integration works.
- Represent the company in meetings with clients, DSOs, TSOs, and regulatory authorities.
Requirements

Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Power Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in HV/MV substation design, execution, or EPC management (preferably 110 kV and above).
- Strong understanding of relay protection, primary systems, and communication protocols (IEC 61850 / IEC 104).
- Familiarity with Transelectrica and DSO standards, ANRE procedures, and the grid connection process.
- Experience preparing and evaluating technical and commercial offers for HV systems.

ANRE Authorization preferred.
- Excellent English and Romanian communication and documentation skills.
