Senior Software Engineer (Backend-Focused, Full Stack Capable)

Location: Williamsburg, Brooklyn (Hybrid 4 Days In-Office)

Compensation: $160K - $200K base + $10 -15K bonus + ~0.25% equity

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer who wants real ownership, someone ready to become the primary owner of our backend systems while supporting full-stack development when needed. You'll work directly with the CTO, take on complex engineering challenges, and help shape the architecture of an advanced AI connectivity platform.

What You Will Do

Lead backend development in Python for production-grade systems.

Work with geometry, spatial, and simulation data, including GPU-accelerated workloads.

Contribute to frontend components using React + TypeScript.

Collaborate on LLM/AI workflows, data pipelines, and internal tooling.

Take full ownership of backend components and evolve into the backend lead.

Ship fast, iterate quickly, and work closely with founders in a high-energy deep-tech environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

5-10 years of engineering experience (or exceptional 3+ years).

Strong Python backend engineering background.

Comfortable contributing to full-stack development (React, TypeScript).

Prior experience in Seed or Series A startups requires understanding startup pace, ambiguity, and ownership.

Education

Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (required).

Technical Skills

Python (primary)

Geometry/spatial/simulation data exposure

React + TypeScript

Cloud, CI/CD, DevOps familiarity

GPU workflows (nice to have)

Large datasets, distributed systems, or developer tools background (strong plus)

Mindset

Fast learner, gritty, self-directed, and hungry to build.

Comfortable owning problems end-to-end, not waiting for a Jira ticket engineer.

Engaged, collaborative, and energized by tough technical problems.
