Job Title: Production Manager Night Shift

Location: Norfolk, Nebraska

Salary: $65-85K plus bonus

Job Summary:

As the Night Production Manager, you will lead the facility in supporting overall business objectives by overseeing all aspects of nightly production operations. This includes managing inventory accuracy, ensuring sanitation standards are maintained, and assisting the EHS manager with safety program implementation. The Production Supervisors will report directly to you.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Develop strategic manufacturing plans and programs to achieve budgeted unit cost and output objectives.
  2. Coordinate activities across all manufacturing functional areas to align with plant goals, effectively communicating priorities as needed.
  3. Establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all production processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  4. Maintain production capacity in line with sales volume requirements, developing contingency plans as necessary.
  5. Develop and monitor the annual operating budget to measure progress towards objectives.
  6. Enhance the quality of plant assets, both current and fixed, through continuous improvement initiatives.
  7. Foster the development of technical and manufacturing management skills among plant personnel.
  8. Implement performance standards for all supervisors, maintaining up-to-date job descriptions and improvement plans.
  9. Establish appropriate scheduling and employee work schedules based on customer orders and plant performance requirements.
  10. Collaborate with the Purchasing department to establish quality specifications for incoming raw materials and monitor compliance.
  11. Partner with Quality/R&D to develop and improve products/processes, overseeing experimental and test runs and reporting results.
  12. Manage inventory of off-spec materials, including scheduling and reworking products as necessary.
  13. Maintain formulation data system integrity by accurately entering all new product formulations.

Education & Experience:

  • 5-7 years of previous management experience in a food-grade operation, with a background in dairy, evaporators, and/or drying technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of plant operation procedures and business system software applications.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Previous supervisory experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Ability to work a night shift schedule on a 2-2-3 rotation from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
