About the Role
We are hiring a Welding Supervisor to lead our 3rd shift production team in Waterloo. This role is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supervising welding operations, ensuring quality standards, maintaining workflow, and promoting a safe, efficient manufacturing environment. You'll report to the Production Manager and work closely with Operations Leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support 3rd shift welding operations and personnel
- Schedule production, assign tasks, and monitor workflow to meet daily goals
- Spend up to 50% of time performing direct labour alongside the team
- Enforce safety policies and proactively identify hazards
- Act as a quality inspector, maintaining high standards in production output
- Ensure materials and tools are readily available for team use
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to support performance and growth
- Maintain accurate shift reports and production data
- Foster a cooperative and productive work environment
- Implement and monitor continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
- Welding experience strongly preferred
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and drive team results
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office proficiency preferred
- Valid driver's license required
