About the Role

We are hiring a Welding Supervisor to lead our 3rd shift production team in Waterloo. This role is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supervising welding operations, ensuring quality standards, maintaining workflow, and promoting a safe, efficient manufacturing environment. You'll report to the Production Manager and work closely with Operations Leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support 3rd shift welding operations and personnel
  • Schedule production, assign tasks, and monitor workflow to meet daily goals
  • Spend up to 50% of time performing direct labour alongside the team
  • Enforce safety policies and proactively identify hazards
  • Act as a  quality inspector, maintaining high standards in production output
  • Ensure materials and tools are readily available for team use
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to support performance and growth
  • Maintain accurate shift reports and production data
  • Foster a cooperative and productive work environment
  • Implement and monitor continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Welding experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and drive team results
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office proficiency preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
