Procurement Lead/Purchasing Manager

Location: Mason City, Iowa

Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 annually

Position Overview:

As the Procurement Lead for our dynamic organization, you'll not only be overseeing all purchasing operations but also be at the forefront of enhancing supplier relationships and streamlining our procurement processes. Dive into a pivotal role where you will collaborate closely with suppliers, address production challenges, and contribute significantly to our operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• End-to-End Procurement Management: Oversee the acquisition, inventory, and timely delivery of products.
• Order Oversight: Streamline orders for raw materials, essential tooling, and operational items.
• Vendor Relationships: Lead supplier qualification and management. This includes onboarding new vendors, performance tracking, and classification.
• Request and Returns: Efficiently handle daily purchasing requests and manage merchandise returns.
• Regulation Adherence: Set up and oversee alternative minimum tax procurement rules.
• Vendor Evaluation: Assess all suppliers based on product quality, cost-effectiveness, reliability, support, and availability.
• Negotiation Expertise: Spearhead contract negotiations, ensuring the best terms for our organization.
• System Improvement: Champion enhancements to our procurement system, emphasizing digital solutions.
• Invoice Management: Collaborate with Accounts Payable for invoice validations and resolving discrepancies.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in procurement or related roles.
• Prior exposure to the manufacturing sector.
• Exceptional negotiation skills.
• Proficient in problem-solving, both independently and collaboratively.
• In-depth understanding of market conditions and emerging trends.
• Proven ability to balance result-driven actions while nurturing relationships with internal teams, customers, and vendors.
• Proficient in MS Office® Suite and experience with ERP Systems (preference for IQMS).
