Location: Decorah, Iowa
Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 annually
Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Manager will play a pivotal role as a member of the Processing Management Team, leveraging their expertise in quality management to oversee our Quality systems. This role requires a dynamic individual who can ensure adherence to best practices in production, uphold our FSSC 22000 certification and QMS standards, and spearhead initiatives to improve processes continuously. Collaborative efforts with both production and quality teams are imperative to meet objectives, resolve challenges, and foster a culture of progressive efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Uphold and maintain FSSC 22000 Certification.
2. Implement and ensure adherence to Quality Management System processes, ensuring all staff are adequately trained.
3. Regularly review the QMS with the Management Team, setting and monitoring goals for quality, product, and process enhancement.
4. Address and manage customer concerns, delve into root causes, and formulate both corrective and preventive strategies.
5. Supervise and coordinate both internal and external audit activities.
6. Serve as the primary Quality point of contact for current and potential clients. Oversee and maintain essential documentation as per customer requirements.
7. Maintain other certifications such as Kosher, Halal, and Organic.
8. Guide and train the Internal Audit Team.
9. Administer QMS & Quality Awareness Training for both new hires and current staff.
10. Offer leadership and direction to Quality Technicians.
11. Head the Food Safety Quality Culture Team.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Quality Management Systems within a food manufacturing setting.
- Bachelor's Degree in a closely related discipline.
- Solid understanding of ISO standards and QMS best practices.
- Proven experience in managing customer complaint processes and implementing mitigative actions.
- Advanced skills in Lean, Six Sigma, and Project Management methodologies are advantageous.
- Proficiency in EXCEL, Microsoft Office Suite, and various quality documentation software tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively.
- Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
- Self-driven with the ability to work autonomously and maintain safety standards.
