About the Company

Our client is a food manufacturer operating a fast-paced production plant in Denison, Iowa. Relocation assistance is available.

The Role

As leader of the maintenance and engineering department, the Plant Engineer keeps building and equipment performance at a high level, reduces mechanical downtime and keeps production lines running at peak efficiency. You will lead the development of maintenance systems including preventive and predictive maintenance and TPM, and you will lead the engineering and capital project activity that keeps the facility a modern food manufacturing operation.

What You Will Do

  • Own capital projects from concept to completion, managing and scheduling every element so projects are delivered on time, on budget and without compromising safety, food safety or environmental standards.
  • Lead the development and implementation of maintenance systems that keep the plant operating at peak performance.
  • Drive preventive and predictive maintenance, TPM and scheduling that maximizes task completion with minimal downtime.
  • Manage the maintenance team by delegating tasks, enforcing policies and guiding work assignments.
  • Provide short-term fixes and long-term solutions for troubleshooting, problem analysis and equipment failures to minimize recurring issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement by developing and tracking KPIs for the maintenance function.

What You Bring

  • Food manufacturing experience
  • A background that covers maintenance, engineering and project management in a plant
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and 8+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience in team management and development or project leadership
  • Strong technical skills in the mechanical and electrical fields (PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering)
  • Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance and TPM
  • Strong leadership, planning, analytical and communication skills
