Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator assists the Director of Pharmacy in various duties, supporting compounding, dispensing, ordering, and proper storage of pharmaceuticals. This role ensures safe, cost-effective medication therapies for patients, coordinates clinical activities, and contributes to the quality and effective operation of the department.
Essential Functions:
- Ensures safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Provides education and information on pharmaceutical care and drug therapy.
- Coordinates Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
- Participates and coordinates pharmacy role in Infection Control and Antibiotic Stewardship activities.
- Reviews clinical activities of the pharmacy and contributes to its quality and effective operation.
- Assists with training, orientation, and supervision of new employees and pharmacy technicians.
- Performs other duties related to the practice of pharmacy as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy Program; Doctor of Pharmacy preferred.
- Required Licenses: Pharmacist licensure in the State of WV.
