Job Title: Nursing Department Manager, NICU FT Mid-Shift

Salary: USD $148,800 $192,500 / yr

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of nursing services and safe patient care, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain patient care and service standards to meet expectations and needs.
  • Work with Nursing Leadership to develop strategic plans for integrated services.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve quality.
  • Determine appropriate staff mix, hire, train, and ensure ongoing staff development.
  • Develop and monitor departmental policies and procedures.
  • Promote an organizational culture of safety and ensure adherence to standards and guidelines.
  • Participate in leadership committees and forums.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum five (5) years of clinical nursing experience relevant to NICU, including three (3) years of management or leadership experience.
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing. BSN and National Health/Nursing Administration Certification or MSN required for NICU departments.
  • License/Certification/Registration: Registered Nurse License (California), Basic Life Support certification.

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act, TJC, and other regulations.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and management skills.
  • Ability to provide superior and culturally sensitive service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with electronic medical records.
  • Masters degree.
  • National Certification in specialty.
  • BSN and RNC-NIC certification.

Non-negotiable Requirements:

  1. California RN license.
  2. American Heart Association BLS.
  3. NRP certification.
  4. RNC-NIC certification.
  5. BSN or MSN.
  6. Minimum five (5) years of FT equivalent Level III NICU RN experience.
  7. Minimum three (3) years of FT equivalent Level III NICU Manager or Supervisor experience.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • MSN.
  • Management experience in a union environment.
