Job Title: Nursing Department Manager, Cardiovascular Operating Room FT

Type: Onsite, Permanent
Salary: USD $148,800 $192,500 / yr
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manages the delivery of nursing services and safe patient care on a 24-hour basis, ensuring compliance with standards and performance measures.
- Establishes and maintains patient care and service standards to meet organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Develops strategic plans for integrated services and continuous improvement of clinical practices.
- Monitors departmental budgets, identifies cost-saving strategies, and ensures appropriate staffing levels.
- Develops and monitors departmental policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Manages human resource and risk management issues, promoting an organizational culture of safety.
- Participates in leadership committees and forums at various levels.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum five (5) years of clinical nursing experience, including three (3) years of management, supervisory, or leadership experience.
- Education: Academic degree in nursing required (Bachelors or Masters degree). BSN and National Health/Nursing Administration Certification or MSN required for certain departments.
- License/Certification/Registration: Registered Nurse License (California), Basic Life Support.
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act, TJC, and other regulations.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and management skills.
- Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with electronic medical records.
- Masters degree.
- National Certification in specialty.
Non-negotiable Requirements:
- California RN license.
- American Heart Association BLS.
- BSN or MSN.
- Minimum of 5 years of FT equivalent operating room RN experience in an acute care setting, with a few years of cardiothoracic OR experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of FT equivalent Manager or Supervisor experience, not including Charge Nurse experience.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- MSN.
- CNOR.
- Management experience in a union environment.
