Job Title: Nurse Manager - Ambulatory Surgery Unit

Salary: USD $200,000 $220,000 / yr

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operations of 24-hour departments across multiple locations, ensuring highest quality of care and compliance with regulations.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain patient care and service standards to meet expectations of members and internal clients.
  • Design and evaluate processes to improve systems and patient care outcomes.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, identify strategies to reduce costs, and improve quality of care/services.
  • Determine appropriate staff mix, oversee hiring, training, and competency maintenance of department staff.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor departmental policies and procedures supporting organizational goals.
  • Oversee standards of care and practice, fiscal management, and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum four (4) years of clinical nursing experience in ambulatory surgery, including four (4) years of management, supervisory, or leadership experience.
  • Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or Master's Degree in Nursing earned through a direct entry MSN program.
  • License/Certification/Registration: Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire. Basic Life Support certification.

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • ACLS or PALS certification may be required.
  • National Certification preferred within 1 year of hire.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of management experience preferred.
  • One (1) year of Magnet/shared governance experience preferred.
  • One (1) year of managing in a bargaining environment preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

  1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  2. Experience in Operating Room nursing.
  3. Charge Nurse or Assistant Nurse Manager experience.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
  • Experience managing a unionized environment.
