Job Title: Nursing Professional Development Consultant (Emergency Department Residency/Fellowship)
Location: Clackamas, OR, US
Type: Onsite, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, day shift
Salary: USD $113,800 $171,800 / yr

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate professional development programs for staff members.
  • Conduct educational needs assessments, develop high-quality educational programs, and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Partner with nursing leadership to develop evidence-based orientation, training, and competency assessment programs.
  • Serve as a resource for individuals and groups, participate in research review, and incorporate evidence-based practices into educational activities.
  • Mentor peers and colleagues, maintain clinical expertise, and pursue certification in Nursing Professional Development and clinical specialty.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum two (2) years of education experience and minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in specialty.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • License/Certification/Registration: Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided), Basic Life Support certification within 1 month of hire.

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of current regulations and requirements (TJC, OSHA, OSBN).
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member, strong interpersonal skills, and conflict resolution ability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years of leadership/management experience, minimum five (5) years of education experience, and minimum five (5) years of clinical experience in acute care setting.
  • Master's in nursing with focus on clinical specialty, certification in specialty practice (Nursing Professional Development and/or clinical specialty).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

  1. Minimum two (2) years of education experience.
  2. Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in specialty.
  3. Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  4. Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided).
  5. Basic Life Support certification within 1 month of hire.
