Maintenance Generalist

Job Title: Maintenance Generalist - All Shifts (Full-Time)

Salary: USD $26.49 $28.95 / hr

Earn up to a $5,000 Retention Bonus!

• $2,500 at 90 days.
• $2,500 at one year.

• Must successfully complete the above time increments to be eligible.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment, including lubrication, adjustment of parts, rebuilding, scheduled service, and assisting with changeovers.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work area and equipment at all times.
• Conduct daily inspections of assigned equipment areas to identify wear, defects, and damage, and perform necessary repairs to ensure proper functionality.
• Document all maintenance and repair activities, including materials and parts used, while adhering to plant safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) specifications.
• Refer to manufacturer manuals and blueprints to operate, set up, or repair machinery accurately.
• Participate in both on-site and off-site training sessions as required.
• Notify leadership of low or depleted inventory of materials and parts.
• Promote and maintain a safe working environment.

Job Skills:

• Physical ability to perform various tasks such as standing, sitting, bending, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting, and reaching.
• Capability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing between 20-70 pounds.
• Adaptability to work in varying environmental conditions, including cold, heat, and dampness, with potentially slippery surfaces.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
• Basic computer skills for completing required training and tasks.
• Proficiency in identifying necessary parts and supplies for job tasks.
• Effective verbal communication skills for training purposes.
• Ability to comprehend manuals, instructions, blueprints, and schematics.
• Readiness to work up to 12-hour shifts on hard surfaces.
• Strong teamwork and individual work capabilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for interacting with team members and management.
• Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and entrepreneurial spirit.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of industrial maintenance experience OR 6 months of industrial maintenance experience with relevant education (e.g., industrial maintenance diploma or enrollment in technical school).
• Candidates with previous employment at Tyson must adhere to a minimum rehire waiting period of 180 days and are limited to 3 instances of employment.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

• Maintenance mechanic experience in one of the following:
  1. One year of experience in industrial manufacturing OR
  2. Two years in aircraft maintenance, agriculture maintenance, or military maintenance OR
  3. Three years in automotive maintenance.
