JOB SUMMARY / SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. The Sr Comptroller is generally tasked to ensure that all policies, guidelines, procedures and internal controls set by the management and other accounting policies are complied with and undertaken by the department.
  1. The Sr Comptroller is responsible in overseeing overall accounting operations of the bank to include the timely production of periodic Financial Statements, maintenance of adequate accounting records and filing system and ensure accurate preparation of financial reports.
  1. The Sr comptroller shall ensure adherence to existing internal control procedures while maintaining the highest quality of service.
  1. Monitoring of actual financial result vs budget and relevant variance analysis.
  1. Monthly incentive checker (Loans Marketing, Asset Management, Collection and Legal and Branch Banking Division).
  1. Approval of Check Voucher- prepared by Disbursement unit.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSILIBITIES:

  1. Management:
  1. Sets objectives and guidelines for Accounting processes to secure and maintain the internal control of the bank.
  2. Ensures the completeness and Integrity of Financial Statements and the related supporting schedules to be use as their reference in management policies, guidelines, procedures.
  3. Review the Accounting and Tax operations, formulates monitoring systems and control measures to improve efficiency.
  4. Performs other related tasks as may be assigned by immediate superiors from time to time. Example assisting on BSP & PDIC examination.
  1. Operation:
  1. Oversees the function of related finance department as to compliance with bank policies, guidelines, procedures, etc., validity of transaction, completeness of transaction documents and ensure compliance relative to proper posting, balancing and adjusting entries all throughout the day.
  2. Provides and preparation of analytical report on the results of Financial operations and financial condition of the bank
  3. Ensures the completeness of Financial Statements and the related supporting schedules.
  4. Adheres and implements accounting procedures and policies set by the management.
  5. Review accounting data entry systems and procedures.
  6. Review and ensure proper updating of accruals, adjustments and other reconciling items.
  7. Review the proper documentation of disbursements, claims, and proper approval of accounting transactions.
  8. Manages compliance of Financial Reporting Package (FRP) as required by the BSP & PDIC with reference to the Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
  9. Performs other functions as maybe assigned from time to time according to the established productivity and service quality standards example, Business modeling/Projection.
  10. Regular attendance on monthly MANCOM meeting, ALCO, EXCOM meeting related accounting policy approval
  1. Custodianship:
  1. Custodianship of Financial Reports
  1. General Authority:
    1. The Sr Comptroller is authorized to check and validate all general accounting journal entry and ticket, other accounting transactions and Approval of Check Voucher processed by disbursement process .
  1. Monitoring and Multilevel review of the F.F:
  2. WBSPL quarterly working papers for SGV (external Auditors) coordination with Accounting group Head and annual AFS preparation and released including Notes to F.S
  1. The BSP/PDIC quarterly report FRP such as RBSOLO, Agri-Agra Mandatory Report, Published Balance Sheet, CAR, BRIS
  2. semi-annual- BDL of the bank submitted to PDIC
  3. semi-annual Regular Certified Statement(PDIC Insurance)
  4. Monthly Management financial statement submitted to CFO
  5. Review the mapping of CMS -Next Bank
  6. Checks and reviews Monthly/Quarterly Income tax remittances, LOA
  7. ECL (PFRS 9)
  8. PAS 19 Retirement liabilities
  9. PAS 16 Right of used Asset and Leases
  10. Chart of Accounts Roll forward (LOANS & OTHER Receivables and Allowances) PPE, ROPA, DEP LIAP, BILLS PAYABLE)
  11. GL account Schedule and Ledger
  12. Monthly/Annual checking of 4 Pillars incentive computation ( Marketing, AMD, Collection & Legal and BBD)
  1. Accounting and Reconciliation
  2. Review and Monitors accounting data entry system and procedure.
  3. Review and monitor the proper updating accruals, adjustments and other reconciling items.
  4. Review and checks and verifies accounting transactions/ float items and their causes, reviews all outstanding items and initiates corrective and take appropriate actions
  5. Review proper documentations of disbursements, claims, and proper approval of accounting transactions.

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:

Education

:

Must possess at least a Bachelor/College Degree in Business Studies / Accountancy/ Professional Licensed /CPA Passer.

Experience

:

Preferably 2 years of successful and verifiable experience in area of financial reporting in a banking industry.

Others

:

Must have the ability to analyze accounting records and adopt methods needed to solve accounting problems. Must have understanding of the regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to corporate banking. Knowledgeable in computerized accounting applications and systems. With Tax Operation knowledge. Must have vast knowledge in accounting procedures, practices and principles

Proficient in MS PPT, Excel function and Operation

Knowledgeable in Philippine General Accepted Accounting Standard, (PFRS) BSP MORB/ BIR RR
