LAUNDRY SUPERVISOR

General Requirements

• Completed O' Level
• Minimum 3 years' related experience/training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proven operational supervisory skills and thorough understanding of the role
• Good knowledge of MS Office
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize workload and work quickly and accurately under pressure whilst maintaining a calm demeanor

Job Specification

• Train, mentor, schedule, and evaluate laundry attendants to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety protocols
• Oversee daily washing, drying, ironing, and folding processes for guests, staff, or residents
• Inspect finished linens and garments to ensure they meet cleanliness and presentation standards
• Ensures that established infection control and universal precaution practices are followed as some tasks may involve exposure to blood/body fluids
• Monitor machinery, perform minor repairs, and coordinate with engineering team for maintenance to prevent downtime
• Track and order cleaning chemicals, supplies, and linens, conducting regular inventory counts to ensure adequate stock levels
• Maintain a clean and sanitized work area enforcing hospital department regulations and protocols
• Assigns schedules and duties to laundry staff
• Makes rounds and inspections to assure that laundry personnel are performing required duties, appropriate laundry procedures are being rendered, and quality control measures are continually maintained
• Efficiently and courteously deal with all guests' complaints and ensure escalation to Executive Housekeeper when necessary so follow up is actioned accordingly
