About the job Demand Planner

  1. Demand Forecasting: Utilize statistical models and analytical tools to predict future customer demand for products or services. Analyze historical sales data, market trends, seasonality, and other relevant factors to generate accurate demand forecasts.
  2. Inventory Management: Collaborate with the inventory management team to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained to meet forecasted demand. Identify potential stockouts or excess inventory situations and take proactive measures to address them.
  3. Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP): Participate in cross-functional S&OP meetings to align demand forecasts with supply chain capabilities. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to business planning.
  4. Monitor and Analyze Performance: Regularly review and evaluate forecast accuracy and inventory performance metrics. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance forecasting accuracy and optimize inventory levels.
  5. Communication: Effectively communicate demand forecasts and inventory plans to relevant stakeholders, including management, sales teams, and production units. Keep all parties informed about potential risks and opportunities related to demand and supply.
  6. Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities. Use this information to make informed decisions about demand forecasts and inventory management strategies.
  7. Demand Planning Tools: Utilize demand planning software and systems to facilitate data analysis, forecasting, and reporting. Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and advanced Excel skills may be required.
  8. Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks that could impact demand forecasts, such as changes in consumer behavior, economic conditions, or disruptions in the supply chain. Develop contingency plans to mitigate these risks.
  9. Collaborative Forecasting: Collaborate with key customers or suppliers to gather additional insights into demand patterns, customer preferences, and upcoming promotions or events that may affect demand.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve demand planning processes and methodologies by incorporating best practices and adopting new technologies or analytical approaches.

Must have 2 - 3 Years of solid hands-on experience, preferably APICS, CPIM Certified.
