SENIOR DEVOPS ENGINEER - HEALTHCARE IT


LOCATION REQUIREMENT: This is a HYBRID position based in the Triangle area (Durham, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, NC). Candidates MUST be local and willing to work in-office 3 days per week.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We seek an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to manage highly scalable cloud-based infrastructure supporting healthcare technology platforms. You will design, build, and maintain systems that directly support patient care applications and healthcare data management.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage and optimize highly scalable and available distributed systems on cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Architect and implement automation/configuration management code using Ansible, Terraform, Chef, or Puppet

Design and deploy CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Artifactory, GIT, and related tools

Build comprehensive monitoring, supervision, and resiliency mechanisms for healthcare systems

Manage production deployments, upgrades, and configurations with strict change control protocols

Participate in on-call rotation (24/7/365) to ensure system availability for healthcare operations

Conduct security vulnerability assessments and maintain healthcare compliance standards

Mentor IT staff and provide technical training

Collaborate with healthcare technology teams to optimize system performance


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience

Strong Windows operations and troubleshooting experience

Expert-level experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL in production environments

Operational experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and HashiCorp products

Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or Shell Scripting

Expert DevOps and operations experience in AWS

Expert experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet)

Extensive CI/CD tools experience (Jenkins, Artifactory, Git)

Strong APM tools knowledge (NewRelic, AppDynamics, Splunk, CloudWatch, Dynatrace)

Network security expertise (DNS, VPN/VPC, IDS/IPS, Security Groups)

Healthcare compliance knowledge preferred (HIPAA, HL7, healthcare data security)


NICE TO HAVE:

Multi-cloud architecture experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Kubernetes cluster optimization and security

Healthcare IT system integration experience

JIRA and Atlassian suite experience

Previous healthcare technology background
