About the role
We are looking for an experienced Workato Integration Developer with strong hands-on capability in designing, building, and optimising end-to-end automations on the Workato platform. The ideal candidate will have solid experience working with APIs, workflow automation, and system integrations, with MuleSoft experience as a secondary advantage. Knowledge of Salesforce APEX is desirable to enable seamless integration between Workato, MuleSoft APIs, and Salesforce CRM.
This role involves developing, testing, and deploying integration and automation solutions that streamline business processes across multiple systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain integrations and automations using Workato (recipes, connectors, jobs, error handling, formula fields, etc.).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand integration requirements and translate them into scalable automation workflows.
- Implement data transformations, orchestration, and cross-system logic across Workato pipelines.
- (Secondary) Support MuleSoft integration work as needed, including designing and maintaining APIs on the Anypoint Platform.
- Work with Salesforce developers/admins to integrate Workato automation with Salesforce, including APEX when required.
- Develop and manage API specifications using REST/SOAP standards and API documentation tools.
- Troubleshoot integration issues and ensure robust monitoring, logging, and governance.
- Participate in code reviews and follow best practices for security, scalability, and version control.
- Maintain full documentation for integrations and automations.
Essential Requirements
- 2–3+ years of experience building automations and integrations with Workato.
- Strong understanding of Workato concepts including recipes, triggers, connectors, job queueing, error management, and Workato project organisation.
- Experience designing integrations across systems such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
- (Secondary) Exposure to MuleSoft Anypoint Platform including Anypoint Studio, Runtime Manager, CloudHub, DataWeave, etc.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce APEX (triggers, classes, API calls).
- Strong understanding of API concepts (REST, SOAP), JSON, XML, authentication methods (OAuth, API keys).
- Familiarity with CI/CD and source control (Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Workato certification(s), such as Automation Pro levels.
- MuleSoft certification (preferred but not essential).
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Exposure to Salesforce Lightning and platform events.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools or other enterprise integration platforms.
- Experience with message brokers (e.g., Kafka, ActiveMQ) is a plus.
