Position: P-Speech Language Pathologist
Salary Range: $40-$42.50 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday with possible weekends as needed and potential for floating between facilities
Experience level: Experienced, cannot take new graduates
Setting: Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with patients of all ages and a strong background in providing speech and language therapy services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patients' speech, language, and swallowing abilities
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and patient goals
- Provide therapy services to patients, including but not limited to, articulation, language, fluency, and swallowing exercises
- Monitor and track patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to provide holistic care for patients
- Educate patients and their families on techniques for improving communication and swallowing abilities
- Document all patient care and progress accurately and timely
- Adhere to all professional, ethical, and legal standards set forth by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and state licensing board
- Stay current with advancements and changes in the field of speech language pathology through continuing education and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state license or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a clinical setting, preferably in a SNF
- Strong knowledge and understanding of speech and language disorders, dysphagia, and other related conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with electronic medical records systems
- Current CPR certification
