Travel Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) – Inpatient Rehab

Schedule: Day Shift | 5x8 Hours (08:00 AM – 05:00 PM)

Position Overview

Trinity Healthcare Talent Services is seeking a Travel Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for an Inpatient Rehabilitation unit at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX.

This role focuses on delivering speech therapy services in a structured inpatient rehab setting, working closely with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes in communication, cognition, and swallowing.

  • Facility: Methodist Hospital
  • Location: San Antonio, TX
  • Unit: Inpatient Rehab (3rd Floor – South Building)
  • Beds: 32
  • Team: ~35 therapists + 50 nurses
  • Charting System: Meditech

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Perform speech and swallow evaluations
  • Provide therapy for:
    • Communication disorders
    • Cognitive impairments
    • Swallowing (dysphagia)
  • Deliver inpatient rehab treatments & ADL-based therapy
  • Develop and update plan of care (POC)
  • Collaborate with PTs, OTs, nurses, and rehab aides
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech

Required Qualifications

Active Texas SLP License
BLS Certification
Experience in Inpatient Rehab or Acute Care
Strong teamwork and adaptability

Preferred Experience

Prior inpatient rehab experience
Experience with ADLs and functional rehab
Comfortable with weekend rotations

Scheduling & Assignment Details

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday
  • Hours: 40 hours/week
  • Weekend Requirement: Minimum 2 weekends per 4 weeks
  • Floating: Possible to other inpatient rehab units

Compliance Requirements

Must have TX license at submission
BLS required
Must be open to weekend coverage
