Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide therapy services to our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans to help our residents regain their mobility, strength, and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Physical Therapist to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for residents.
- Provide direct therapy services, including exercises, activities, and modalities, to help residents improve their physical function and achieve their treatment goals.
- Monitor and document residents' progress, and communicate any changes or updates to the Physical Therapist.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for residents.
- Educate residents and their families on therapy techniques and exercises to continue at home.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy services provided.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations and facility policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution.
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of therapy techniques and modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift and move patients and equipment as needed.
